This year, we’ve been tracking changes in the Bose headphone lineup. The brand is retiring beloved models, including the Bose QuietComfort 45 and Bose 700 headphones, in favor of the new and updated QuietComfort series. Bose is leveraging its technology with an emphasis on superior comfort and sound quality in products unveiled Wednesday.

Over the past few months, we’ve watched Bose rebuild its line of earbuds and headphones. Bose’s line of QuietComfort headphones includes the QuietComfort and QuietComfort Ultra. The former is an entry-level over-ear model, while the latter brings greater comfort and personalized sound.
Currently, the earbud portion of the line only includes the QuietComfort Ultra earbuds, which Mashable’s Timothy Werth Beck said are “impressive in every way.” Just like the brand does with its headphones, Bose is adding an entry model with Bose QuietComfort earbuds.
Mix and match speed of light
These new headphones retail for $179, which is significantly cheaper than the Ultras’ $299 price tag. Additionally, they are said to have a battery life of up to eight and a half hours, two hours more than the QuietComfort Ultra headphones. QuietComfort earbuds are available in black, white smoke, and cool lilac and are available now.

The new Bose Smart Soundbar adds AI conversation mode to its feature list.

The Bose Smart Soundbar replaces the Bose Smart Soundbar 600 (the 600 was removed from the name). This revamped version also adds the AI conversation mode previously seen on the Bose Smart Ultra Soundbar.
The AI Conversation Mode feature uses machine learning to detect speech in the audio stream and make it clearer and clearer—maybe you’ll finally be able to turn on subtitles. In addition, users wearing Bose Ultra Open earbuds can also take advantage of personal surround sound, where the rear speakers on the soundbar are replaced by the earbuds to create close, personalized sound.
The Bose Smart Soundbar costs $499 and is available online.
