Curtis vocalized her desire for the role years ago, and co-showrunner Matt Owens later opened the door to further discussions. Looks like the deal is done, right? Yes…no.
In a recent interview with Deadline , executive producer Becky Clements revealed that Curtis will not be joining the series. The reason was a simple scheduling issue: The actor apparently had “too many movies and shows” she would be a part of, but the timing wasn’t right. “[Jamie] “She definitely wanted to do it, but her deal came first and things got complicated,” Clements explained. If you thought they were only going to cast Kureha for a third season, Clements revealed The role had been chosen and given to “a great guy.”
