“Slay the demon or kill the homecoming dance? Why can’t we do both?”
Netflix has released a fun trailer for its upcoming supernatural horror animated series Jenny Zhou vs Triad.
The series follows a Chinese-American teen living in a small Texas town who discovers that a demonic king is hunting her to gain access to the supernatural powers she has spent her life trying to suppress.
With the help of her weapons expert aunt and the millennium-old Chiang (a Chinese vampire), Gentry must now fight an entire underworld of monsters while balancing the horrors of high school.
The creator of this series is Wu Huiyin“Sometimes, finding your identity is about facing your own demons,” he said in a statement.
“That certainly sounds true with Gentry. She’s trying to figure out what these powers mean to her. Are they a part of her? Are they cursing her? You see this character trying to figure out who she is.
The series is produced by animation studio Titmouse (Venture Brothers, StarCraft: Lower Decks, Scavenger Reign), the main voice actors include Yang Bowen, Lori Chenchin, Lucy Liu, Jimmy O. Young, Sheng Wang, Kim Woo-sungand AJ Beckles.
This looks like a really cool series that will be released on Netflix on December 5, 2024.
