This project is perfect for cosplay and looks stunning both in person and in photos. Soldering wires to tiny NeoPixel LEDs is definitely a challenge, but with a magnifying glass and some patience, it’s doable.
This version was inspired by the Spring of Life music video by my favorite Japanese pop band, Perfume. In the video, directed by the brilliant media artist Daito Manabe, the singers have LEDs mounted on their nails, with white wires dangling elegantly from each finger. Initially, I recreated this look using only one color of SMT LED. In this guide, we’ll take it to the next level using NeoPixels!
