Disney has been developing movie adaptations Neil Gaimannovel, graveyard bookI have been working with the director for several years Mark Foster (A Man Called Otto Christopher Robin) and looking for neverland screenwriter David Magee.
This is a project I’m looking forward to as it’s one of the books my kids and I read together when we were kids. But according to IndieWire , Disney has suspended the film project after sexual assault allegations were made against the author.
The report goes on to emphasize that the Graveyard Book project has not been completely shelved. The plan will resume development at some point, but will remain on hold for now. Gaiman was not involved in the project other than writing the source material.
The book tells the story of a young boy, nameless “Bod” Owen, who, after his family is murdered, is raised by the ghosts and supernatural beings of a cemetery (including Silas, the cemetery’s caretaker).
As for the allegations against Gaiman, he denies them.
