The anime opens in Japan on Friday. The film was originally scheduled to be released in the fall of 2023, but was later scheduled for release in 2024. GKIDS It has acquired the film for North America, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand and will be released in winter 2024. Plain Pictures will handle Italian and German speaking regions, and charades Sales will be managed for the rest of Europe, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand.
The story centers on Tozuko, a female high school student who can see the “colors” of people’s inner emotions. She attended a missionary school in Nagasaki. To spare her friends and family her dark emotions, she worried, speculated on the situation, and even lied to smooth things over. In an antique bookstore in the corner of the town, she met a colorful and beautiful woman and a boy who loved music and tried to form a band. The story tells the story of three sensitive people who come together to form a band.
