We all miss the vibe of the early 2000s, even the toy companies, which is why Mattel has relaunched its iconic line of dolls from that era to usher in a new era of gaming.
My Scene dolls debuted in 2002, featuring the iconic Y2K style and an accompanying web page that told stories about the dolls that children would become obsessed with until the line was discontinued in 2009. children of the early 2000s with these iconic dolls.
There are three dolls in the lineup. My Scene Barbie’s look has been redesigned based on her original outfit, including a red biker jacket, newsboy hat, red sunglasses, saddle bag and red block heels. My Scene Madison wore a blue outfit with work jeans, a mesh T-shirt over a blue butterfly crop top, blue sunglasses, a denim bag, and chunky platform shoes. Finally, My Scene Chelsea is pretty in pink, including a faux fur coat with pink lining, a pink halter top, a denim skirt, and 2000s accessories like butterfly clips, hoop earrings, and knee-high boots.
My Scene Barbie is available now at mattelcreations.com and other major retailers. While these dolls may be a pale imitation of life in the early 2000s, they’re sure to have legions of kids claiming they were “born in the wrong generation.”
