My Hero Academia creator Kohei Horikoshi has promised a big announcement after the final chapter of the series, and it’s…a global popularity poll!
Okay, this might not be the kind of announcement a lot of people were hoping for, but it’s not inconsequential. For those who don’t know, character popularity surveys are common in the larger Shonen Jump games, including series like Jujutsu Kaisen, Saw Man, and My Hero Academia. The only problem for international readers is that these polls are limited to Japan, which means you can’t vote for your favorite characters to help them top the popularity contest. However, as announced by Shonen Jump, making its first appearance in the My Hero Academia series, you can! In fact, there are several polls you can vote on.

The first round, known as the “Main Stage,” started yesterday and runs until September 30. This role stood out, please vote to ensure you continue doing this in the coming months. Then, in December, the winner of the main stage round will be announced on the official Shonen Jump YouTube channel on December 2, taking the title of “World’s Best Hero” and accompanied by a special video.

The second round, aptly called the Plus Ultra Stage, starts on December 2nd at 8pm (JST) and lasts for 24 hours, with the top three winners of the main stage being able to be voted on. In this round, you can vote once every hour, up to 12 times throughout the 24 hours, and the winner will be announced on December 3 at 9:30 PM JST. Whichever character wins this round will be crowned MHA and will receive a special illustration of Horikoshi, as well as a statue based on the same illustration at some point in the future, so make sure you vote wisely (no one wants a statue of Mineta) ,after all).
“My Hero Academia” finally ends with Chapter 430 10 years after its debut. In addition to the voting announcement, it was also revealed that a fan book will be released in January 2025, an art book will be released in February 2025, and Comic Art Exhibition to launch in February 2025.
