MTV Beach House Outfit | Thom Yorke Carbon Outfit

In 1993, Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke performed a legendary live performance at MTV Beach House. The alternative band performed their hit single “Creep,” but the concert became even more famous for another of their songs, “Anyone Can Play Guitar.” In this song, Tom goes crazy, screams “fat, ugly, dead” and jumps into the swimming pool. Although the spring breakers watching this spectacle at the beach house didn’t realize it, it turns out that Tom nearly killed himself during this scene, being simultaneously electrocuted and drowned. Her bleached blond hair pulled back into a ponytail and a black striped shirt were a not-so-subtle nod to grunge star Kurt Cobain, whose band Nirvana dominated the airwaves at the time.
