    Movie review:

    • Uchak: Not all Germans support that madman
    • Valkyrie, released in 2008 and directed by Bryan Singer, is a World War II crime thriller based on the true story of the last German plot to assassinate Hitler in the summer of 1944. It wasn’t a crime, of course, but Rather, it is an act of heroism.
    • Tom Cruise resembles the protagonist, Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg, but is not as tall. Nonetheless, Cruise’s performance of the character is solid and the story adds some suspense. Even though we know the plot will fail, you can’t help but root for the naysayers to succeed. Nearly 5,000 Germans were subsequently executed for treason as a result of this failed attempt, although not all were linked to this specific plot.
    • This movie is both entertaining and educational. This shows that there are thousands of Germans willing to risk everything to get this lunatic out of power. They almost succeeded. “Valkyrie” is in some ways reminiscent of 1976’s “Eagle Landing,” so if you liked that film, you’ll probably like “Valkyrie.” I prefer movies from 1976.
    • The film is 2 hours and 1 minute long and was shot in Germany, the Czech Republic and California. Screenwriters: Christopher McQuarrie and Nathan Alexander.
    • Grade: B
