To commemorate Minecraft’s 15th anniversary, Mojang published a blog post revealing how the studio plans to support the game in the future. This includes the introduction of new PlayStation 5 versions, regular additions of new content for players, mob-voted fates, and more.
While the article doesn’t reveal too many details, it does mention that the studio is actively working on bringing a “Minecraft version” to PlayStation 5. At this point, they must go into the game settings and select “Preview” to test it out.
In addition to the PS5 version of the game, Mojang assured fans that the studio plans to release “a number of free games throughout the year,” rather than the one free update players get over the summer. However, not all updates will be as big as the Thorny Trials update.
The studio has revealed that it plans to remove mob voting, which has been controversial within the Minecraft community for some time. Minecraft Live will now move away from annual voting as it did before, to a “more focused broadcast, taking place twice a year.”
Just a few days ago, the trailer for the “Minecraft” movie was released. In addition to showing off the cast, it’s also filled with various Easter eggs from the game.
