In the cryptic preview, Jordan’s Smoker says via voiceover: “I’ve traveled this world. I’ve seen men die in all kinds of ways that I didn’t even know was possible.
He added that in the film, people are fleeing some unseen danger, and someone shows up at a church with his face scratched. “Of all the things I’ve ever seen, I’ve never seen demons, ghosts, magic—” Until now.
At the end of the trailer, Jordan leads a group of people preparing for battle, and a preacher says: “You keep dancing with the devil, and one day he will follow you home.”
The synopsis teases “New Horizons of Fear,” which reads: “Twin brothers (Jordan) try to escape their troubles and return to their hometown for a fresh start, only to discover that a greater evil awaits them. Back off.”
Coogler wrote and directed the film, which also stars Hailee Steinfeld, Jack O’Connell, Umi Mosaku, Jamie Lawson, Omar Benson Miller and Del Roy Lindo.
Coogler is one of the most popular filmmakers working today, and sinner What’s particularly exciting is that this is an opportunity for him to bring original work to the screen, rather than leveraging existing IP. Warner Bros. won the rights to the film in a bidding war in February, with a unique stipulation that the rights revert to the filmmakers after a few years.

Coogler is producing sinner Through his Proximity Media with Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian. Ludwig Goransson, Will Greenfield and Rebecca Cho serve as executive producers.
The studio has scheduled the film for release on March 7, 2025.
