Somewhere in the middle of the film, the screen briefly goes blank as driver Cesar speaks to the camera. There was a chaotic round of applause from the audience, thinking it was all over – if only we were so lucky – but then, while the lights were still dimming, a man ran from the wings onto the stage in front of the cinema screen, holding a long microphone .
… Positioning himself to the side of the stage, now illuminated by a spotlight, the man then faced the driver, now back on the screen, and asked him a question, like a reporter participating in some weird pandemic-era Zoom It will be the same. The driver answered the phone and the man stormed off the stage again. It’s so weird, it feels pointless and I don’t know how to respond.
