Emerald, Freeman, Impact XM, Financial Times Group and Uno Loco Group expand their global reach through a series of acquisitions, reflecting a wider merger trend in the event industry.
Jade expands outside the United States
On March 17, U.S. Emerald announced that it had acquired London-based Insustech Insights, which organized meetings in London, Hong Kong and New York. FinaThe Ncial terms of the transaction are not disclosed.
On the same day, Emerald also announced the acquisition of an event production company specializing in the luxury tourism market. Founder Serge Dive and the entire team will join Emerald as part of the deal.
This goes beyond activities in Marrakech, Cape Town, Bali, Italy, Miami, Utah and New Orleans.
Additionally, at the end of February, Emerald acquired the Plant-based World Expo from the JD event. Its latest show is held in Excel, London and Javits Centre in New York.
Freeman gets tag numbers
On March 11, Freeman announced the acquisition of TAG Digital, a digital marketing agency focused on event organizers for EMEA, APAC and North America. The terms of the transaction are not disclosed.
TAG Digital will integrate with Freeman Company MDG to better serve presentation organizers and associations while supporting growth in new markets.
Impact XM access to touch employees
On March 4, Impact XM, an experienced marketing company operating in the United States and Canada, expanded to Europe by acquiring Touch Associates, a B2B brand experience agent.
Financial Times Group Obtains Invisso
On April 1, Invisso, an organizer of the financial industry event, will become part of the Financial Times event division. The acquisition announced on March 4 will expand FT Live’s products in the United States and Europe.
Invisso hosts financial conferences including the Global ABS, ABS East, Covered Bond Congress, the Central and Eastern Europe Forum, and the Global Borrower and Bond Investor Forum.
UNO Loco Group acquires conference company
On March 7, UNO Loco Group, a New Zealand-based experience and design agency, announced that it would acquire the conference company. Jan Tonkin, managing director of the conference company, will continue for 6 months to support the transition. He will work with incoming CEO Thea Farrant Adam.
