Lots of multiverse shenanigans in there Deadpool and Wolverine, The most notable is Deadpool’s army of mutants in the third act. The most famous of the bunch are the “ladies and babies” variety, but there are many more who somehow don’t end up joining the proceedings.
With the film now a work of art, the film’s concept artists showed off some of their work, with David Marsan providing a look at the two Deadpools who had to sit on the bench. The first one, Wolverinepool, is pretty self-explanatory, as Wade wears Logan’s clothes, just with his own colors and style. (Will the character be played by Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, or will they be evenly matched in some way?) Another one Matson showed off was Punkpool, a grunge variant with clothing covered in studs and spikes . You could imagine he was inspired by Spider-Punk in some way, and it would have been cool if he showed up with twin guitars instead of katana swords.
Artist Andy Park showed off some concept art of his own large-scale “pool variant” called Robpool. Parker called this tribute to the character’s co-creator Rob Liefeld part of a series of “interesting changes” made to Deadpool’s costume during pre-production. This version has most of what you might call “classic Liefeld-isms”: “exaggerated muscles, eye bags, sword, shoulder pads, his original costume color breakdown and original eye shape.” All it’s missing is some exaggerated foot, and it’s the complete package. Parker also showed off the art of Deadpool’s jump into the Marvel Universe: Marvel comics universe. It’s possible that during his multiverse quest to find Wolverine, every Avenger he encounters will be created in the style of the legendary comic book artist.
According to Parker, his art (and presumably Masson’s) will appear in deadpool and wolverine The art book is expected to be released on October 29th.
