Just in time for Japan’s seasonal Tsukimi Burger
It’s autumn in Japan, which means it’s time to admire the moon. Or use McDonald’s Japan’s Tsukimi Burger – a seasonal burger to represent the full moon, featuring an egg patty, beef patty and bacon. It’s a staple snack food of fall in Japan, just like pumpkin spice drinks are a staple beverage of fall in the United States. What better way to do that than eating a Moon Burger while watching a movie? McDonald’s Live broadcast in partnership with Hololive, hosted by Vtuber Usada Pekora.

Usada Pekora’s live archives can be viewed on Pekora Youtube channel. In the video, we see VTuber introducing different types of Tsukimi burgers and tasting them.
While choosing to do a Tsukimi Burger moon viewing livestream with Hololive Vtuber may seem strange at first, it does make some sense. Vtuber is based on a rabbit, which in Japan is traditionally believed to be on the moon, so it’s like Pecola is looking at her home. Or at least it’s poetic.
