Marvel announced some big things at the Next Big Thing panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2024.

Ryan Penagos [Agent M] The Vice President of Digital Media and Creative Strategy takes the stage. he brought out Catherine Blair [writer on Loki S2], Gerry Dugan, Wilmoth [editor], Tom Brevoort and CB Cebulski. Penagos then opened the CB with a dropkick to talk about lines from Ultimate Comics…
Moss Elevator introduces the current status of the Ultimate Universe. GBeyond Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate Black Panther, Ultimate X-Men and The Ultimates. Updates for all three have been revealed:
Ultimate X-Men: There will be a girl with Cyclops powers
Ultimate skill: A new Hawkeye will join the team
They then revealed that this run comes with a unique challenge: Unlike the 616 books, the entire Ultimate Universe series exists in real time each month. Tom Brevoort then announced the release of Deniz Camp’s “Ultimate Universe: One Year In,” with a cover by Stefano Caselli and David Curiel.
The Pentagon then turned to talking about the 50th anniversaries of Deathlok, Wolverine, and Iron Fist. They also launched Merry Marvel Marching Society Vinyl to celebrate the music of Marvel COmics. Sounds like a Main Street Disneyland swing. The song is “Marvel Super Heroes Are Coming.”
The 50th anniversary of Iron Fist has announced that Brubaker and Aja will return for a Danny Rand short film in August. They also talked about Deathlok’s 50th anniversary, which is coming in September.
At this point, another Action Comics trailer plays – this time to promote Jonathan Hickman and Greg Capullo’s Wolverine’s Revenge, this August’s Logan vs. Dinosaurs. More details below.
