I suddenly felt excited Marvel RivalsNetEase’s super-powered hero shooter has a similar swing special attack. Is it because there are still a few days until the game is released on December 6th? Could it be that it’s a game that my friends and I might actually play together after we’ve mostly stopped playing it? Battlefield Special Attack 2? Or just because I’m with special attack has become so cold Would I seek comfort in the warm embrace of another heroic shooter? Yes to all of the above, but it’s not my newfound motivation for hype; it’s the anime OP-ass launch trailer that NetEase released over the weekend.
The trailer serves as both a launch trailer and the last five heroes Join Marvel Rivals‘Start list. Iron Fist, Black Widow, Cloak and Dagger (think Ice Climbers) Brawl (both characters as one playable entity), Squirrel Girl and Wolverine will all join the 33-hero roster, pushing for a legitimately different payload. That’s all well and good, and I might give the comic book-like short King Wolverine a try, but what excites me most today is how NetEase and lead singer Chrissy Costanza created the kind of thing you can only watch in The Hero Show Music Video seen earlier is an anime that will make you believe in the power of friendship. Costanza’s vocals on “Rivals ‘Til the End” soar amid action-packed scenes of Marvel’s greatest heroes doing heroic things. All the cool team-ups—like Hulk throwing Wolverine into the side of an exploding skyscraper and Magic teleporting Psylocke into the side of an exploding skyscraper—are gross, but every cool Every moment is elevated by the beauty of this song. This is the pinnacle opening of the anime and I hope it plays when you boot up the game because you won’t catch me skipping it.
Fortunately, all this excitement is not unfounded. I’ve been playing for more than ten hours Marvel Rivals through its Testing phase over the past few months. Now that I’m planning on using Star-Lord as my main, switching to Rocket Raccoon when my team needs a healer, I’ll forgive both of them for being almost absent from this trailer because it’s too good to fault.
