Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg has hinted at the launch of a Twitch channel focused on the strategy video game Civilization. He was interviewed by Pubity during the Meta Connect 2024 conferencerevealing his Deep passion for games: “As far as strategy games go, the game I want to be the best in the world is Civilization.” Zuckerberg didn’t specify which version of Civilization he was playing, so it’s unclear whether he was referring to the original or the latest version of the series.
Zuckerberg gave an insight into his gaming habits and jokingly discussed his wife’s reaction to his gaming time logs. “Priscilla looked at my Steam account the other day and she was like, ‘What? You’ve been playing for over a thousand hours?'” he continued, “I think at some point, I should be like Twitch Do that because I’m so convinced that I’m so close to master status that I’d be surprised if anyone in the world could beat me at that.
The Sid Meier’s Civilization series, developed by Firaxis Games, has sold more than 50 million copies worldwide, according to publisher 2K Games. Zuckerberg has previously mentioned his love for the game, even recalling in his 2017 Harvard commencement address how he received his college acceptance letter while playing the game.
