Miss Reiko Comic creator dies after battling unknown illness for 8 years

comic creator Kazumi Yamashita She announced on her X/Twitter account on Thursday that her sister, former manga creator Rieko Takeishi, had died after eight years of battling an unknown illness.

Takeishi drew many comics for the now-defunct manga company June magazine, the first publication in Japan to focus solely on telling stories about same-sex relationships to female readers. She also contributed to ” Little comics Magazine.
Yamashita himself is famous for the following manga twisted sisters and award-winning land comics. Yamashita noted in the announcement that she later discovered that the commemorative photos used for Takeishi were taken by the famous American rock photographer Bob Gruen, and she thanked Gruen for taking such wonderful photos.
