Since 1974 Secret Light Team Pancakesthis Super Sentai franchise has become an institution in Japan with 49 different teams on different themes. When beloved characters from the entertainment industry appear on a show, it’s usually fun, but also puts them in some kind of danger. That’s what comics creators are like Kazuhiko Shimamoto (Aoi Honno, Animation Tianchang, skeleton man remake) in the latest Super Sentai series Boonboomger. (Shimamoto also happens to design the enemies in this series.)

Episode 27 Rumble aired on September 1 and features new villain Disrace (played by Shotaro Morikubo). While Disrace’s plan remains a mystery, his plan to sabotage the Boomoomgers in this episode involves a carpet monster attacking Shimamoto during a signature event. During the attack, the vicious Itache (by Mizuki Nana) used a slightly sexy voice to tell the creator that he was attractive, for which he was grateful.

Shimamoto forwarded several copies of X (previously twitter) posted on September 1 about his appearance on bomberbut didn’t post anything until September 2 himself. Thanks to all the Boomoomgers! So, it looks like the creators had a lot of fun on the set.

Surprisingly, Shimamoto’s (fictional) fate is not resolved before the end of his series. This means the creator was saved, and if so, it happened off-screen. Even so, Shimamoto’s appearance in the series is still a fun little treat for parents and fans of the creator. Hopefully Shimamoto being captured becomes a little joke in the series because it’s funny to everyone.
