Taylor Sheridan has built a television empire with his Yellowstone universe. Now, he’s following it up with a modern-day spinoff, Madison.

Sheridan has already given us two Yellowstone prequels to satisfy our thirst for Western series: 1883 and 1923 .

With the future of original series Yellowstone up in the air due to Kevin Costner’s departure, it’s a shame that Madison will be able to keep the Yellowstone universe going even without John Dutton.

It would be cool if Kevin Costner popped up at the Madison Theater, but that’s not the case. But anything is possible in Hollywood these days, so you never know what might happen.

But Madison is anything but short of star power. Here’s what we know so far!

    What is “Madison” about?

“Madison” is set in modern times. The show follows the Claiborne family as they move from New York to Montana after a horrific tragedy.

Paramount describes the show as “an honest study of the grief and relationships of a New York City family in the Madison Valley of central Montana.”

The show was originally called “2024” and was later renamed “Madison”.

    Who is behind Madison?

Of course, the guiding force behind Madison is Taylor Sheridan, the genius behind the Yellowstone universe.

Sheridan is also behind the delightful “The King of Tulsa” and “The Mayor of Kingston,” “Spec Ops: Lioness” and the upcoming “Randleman,” all of which feature Streaming on Ramon+.

In addition to Sheridan, other executive producers of “Madison” include series star Michelle Pfeiffer, David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burke , Bob Yari, David Hartkin, Christina Voros, Michael Friedman, and Keith Cox.

The series is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios and Bosque Ranch Productions.

How does Madison fit into the Yellowstone universe?

“Madison” is set in modern times. It’s unclear if the Duttons will appear in the series, so for now we can consider it a standalone spin-off.

Yellowstone uses scenes from the Yellowstone prequels and characters from the 1883 Dutton origin story, but it’s unclear whether such scenes will appear in Madison Park.

Of course, that may change as production progresses.

    Who stars in “Madison”?

The show has a lot of big-name actors joining the cast, and while details are scant, we do have some good stuff to share.

Iconic Michelle Pfeiffer will play Stacey Claiborne, whose story the series revolves around.

While no details about Stacey have been released, what we do know is that she has a tragic story.

After her husband and brother-in-law were killed in a plane crash, she left New York for Montana.

We won’t recap Pfeiffer’s extensive filmography, but she was last seen on television in the 2022 Showtime drama The First Lady.

Matthew Fox is the latest addition to the cast of “Madison.” He plays Paul, a self-reliant bachelor who loves the outdoors.

The actor is best known for his roles in Party of Five and Lost.

Fox has been relatively quiet in television, so it’s great to see him return to America’s small screens. He most recently starred in the 2023 Australian television comedy series C*A*U*G*H*T.

Patrick J. Adams will play Russell McIntosh, Peggy’s husband. Russell is a young investment banker who has followed the life path set for him from the beginning.

Of course, Adams is best known for his role as McAdams on Suits. He most recently starred in the Canadian series Plan B.

Beau Garrett plays Stacey’s daughter Abigail Reese. Abigail is a recently divorced mother of two and a tough and sarcastic New Yorker.

Garrett has appeared in numerous television credits, including starring roles in the 2021 Netflix series Firefly Lane with Kathryn Heigl and the 2014 Bravo series Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce.

She has also appeared in “The Good Doctor,” “The Rookie” and “Longmire.”

Ellie Chapman will play Peggy McIntosh, Stacey’s other daughter. Paige is a somewhat self-centered woman who is addicted to the luxurious New York lifestyle provided by her parents and husband Russell.

This was Chapman’s first major role on American television. Previously, she starred in the Spanish TV series “Mirror Girl” (originally titled “Alma”), now streaming on Netflix.

She also stars in the 2022 film A Man Called Otto, starring Tom Hanks.

    When does “Madison” premiere?

A premiere date for “Madison” has not yet been announced. The cast is still being added, so production has yet to begin.

However, filming will reportedly begin in late August 2024 in Montana, New York City, and Texas.

    Where can I watch “Madison”?

There are no official details yet on which network “Madison” will air. But some reports say it will air on Paramount rather than Paramount+.

It would make sense for the show to premiere alongside Yellowstone Season 5b if it does premiere at Paramount Pictures, but we’ll have to wait and see if that’s how things pan out.

How many episodes are there in Madison Season 1?

It’s unclear how many episodes of Madison we’ll get to enjoy, but based on other shows in the Yellowstone universe, we can expect between 10 and 12 episodes.

Is there a trailer for Madison Season 1?

Since the show hasn’t started filming yet, there’s no trailer yet. Shh!

But be sure to watch this space for updates on any new developments.
