Madballs, the disgusting, slimy toy from the 1980s, are back on store shelves for the brand’s 40th anniversary.
Cloudco Entertainment, owner of the Madballs IP, is partnering with Hunter Products to relaunch the product globally, including a core toy line featuring classic and new characters.
The product line will be first available in 2,800 Walmart stores in the United States in early 2025.
“Hunter Products is excited to bring back one of our favorite toys,” said Luke Hunter, CEO of Hunter Products. “We see Madballs filling a huge gap in the boys’ toy market and can’t wait to relaunch the brand with iconic new characters and real innovation across the product line.”
Since its launch in 1985, Madballs has earned a reputation as one of the original “gross” children’s brands due to its bizarrely themed products. Hunter Products plans to embrace the past while focusing on innovation, including characters with “real” synthetic hair.
Other retailers in the United States will launch new Madballs products next fall.
The range will be available from spring 2025 at retailers in the UK, Benelux, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Portugal and the Nordic region. hunterproducts.com.au/toys .
