PlayStation unveiled several new controllers and PS5 console cases during its latest State of Play presentation. Most notably, Fortress Heroes will launch its own limited edition DualSense on November 7th. PlayStation is also launching a new Chroma range, offering three DualSense colors and matching console cases in a gorgeous chrome finish.
The Fortnite controller definitely stands out with its chaotic design, which is the complete opposite of the recently released Astro Bot controller (which is already sold out). Still, it’s a limited-edition Fortress Heroes-themed DualSense controller, so when pre-orders go up on October 3, it’s likely to sell out quickly.

Aside from the Fortnite theme, the controller is otherwise identical to other standard DualSense controllers, with features like haptic feedback, dynamic triggers, trackpad, and gyro controls. PlayStation recently increased the price of its DualSense controller by $5, and the Fortnite controller reflects that change with an $85 price tag. The Astro Bot controller is only $80 (if you can find it), probably because it was already available for pre-order when the price increase went into effect. Going forward, the limited-edition DualSense controller may cost $85.
More Fortress Heroes Controllers

If you’re interested in a Fortnite DualSense controller but can’t get it when pre-orders open, consider the new third-party wireless gaming controllers for Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC with official Fortnite themes. Two of them also happen to have very busy design.
Despite its bright yellow design, PowerA’s Peely-themed wireless Switch controller is the most understated of the bunch. It connects wirelessly via Bluetooth and has a pair of remappable back buttons. The Peely controller was released earlier this year for $65 and came with a code for the Prickly Ax skin.
Xbox and PC users can pre-order PowerA’s pro-style Fortnite controller for $100 ahead of its October 1 release. The limited-edition controller, pictured above on the left, features a host of customizable features, including Hall-effect rockers and triggers, four remappable back buttons, trigger lockout, and custom profiles. It comes bundled with the Teeth Pick Skin. The controller has very similar features to the recently launched PowerA OPS V3 Pro for PC, which we found to be quite impressive for the price.
The V1, the more affordable controller in the OPS series, has a Fortnite-themed version for $55. The Fortnite Edition OPS V1 is a wireless controller for PC and mobile that features Hall-effect rockers and triggers, four remappable back buttons, and a three-way trigger lockout. You can connect wirelessly via 2.4GHz or Bluetooth. It’s available now on Amazon and comes with the Assault Bomber Glider skin.
Chroma Series DualSense Controller and PS5 System Cover

PlayStation’s new Chroma series will be available for pre-order on October 3 at 7 a.m. PT/10 a.m. ET. The three PS5 controllers and case covers are available in three iridescent colors: Chroma Pearl, Chroma Indigo, and Chroma Teal.
The Chroma controller retails for $80. PS5 Slim console covers cost $65 each, which is $5 more than existing color options. Chroma Pearl and Indigo accessories will be released on November 7, but Chroma Teal won’t be available until January 23, 2025.
November is going to be a busy month for PlayStation devices, as the PS5 Pro is also set to launch on November 7th. Pre-orders for the PS5 Pro will begin on PlayStation Direct on September 26, and at major retailers on October 10. Two weeks after the launch of the PS5 Pro, the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection will bring limited edition consoles and controllers. When the collection launches on November 21st, all the gear will likely sell out quickly.
