Note: The following interview was conducted via email.
Germain Lussier, io9: Although Conjuring, Annabelle, and nun Sharing a universe on screen, we’ve never seen them together in one experience before. What does it feel like to be fully committed? Summon the universe Become a story together?
Edison Raimi: We feel lucky and excited that our park is the first place where these three iconic brands will meet for the first time. We don’t take this lightly. We wanted it to be a natural extension of the film, but also work together in a holistic way. Ultimately, we worked with our friends at RWS Global to create something that not only stayed true to the authentic feel of the series, but also ensured that each brand had their big moment in the maze. I would say — it’s like reading a great book that was made into a movie, which was a great movie that was made into a haunted house. People who know and love these films have high expectations, and we intend to meet them.
io9: Will the stories completely overlap or will there be three different styles?
Remy: It’s a mix. The maze takes place at the Warren Mystery Museum, which allowed us to pull inspiration from all the brands at the same time in a very organic way. It also really sets the stage for these scary characters to show up at any time. As guests tour room by room, they become more fully immersed in a specific franchise as we take them into places like Bathsheba’s Lair, Annabelle’s Playroom, and Santa Cata, where they know everything Things can happen.
io9: What makes this maze unique compared to other mazes at Fright Fest?
Remy: This is the only maze where we merge franchises. It’s three mazes in one! Last year we were lucky enough to work with WB where we did a maze that was just around the corner spiritualism, So being able to expand that is very exciting for us.
io9: Six Flags has invested heavily in IP this year, which creates more direct competition with Universal Horror Nights. What are your thoughts on taking inspiration from a more well-known franchise without clashing with your competitors?
Remy: Conceptually, it makes sense – we’re a place full of thrills, and what better to do that than with a horror movie? Both work really hard to scare you, excite you, and leave you wanting more. But we also want to demonstrate that because we value giving back and want to make sure it works at Six Flags. We did a test run call and saw Looking at the response to an IP-centric maze, the results were overwhelmingly positive. We understand that guests love the houses and find the film’s storytelling exciting. We learned it was so exciting they were willing to queue for two hours to get in. fear, even more callso we [went] and universe concept. We listened, learned and launched Giving Back in 2024.
io9: With new call The movie is in production, can fans keep an eye out for future trailers?
Remy: I can’t really talk about the upcoming movie, but I can say that Labyrinth will only spark excitement for fans of the entire series and give them something fun to do while they wait for the next movie. You can access Six Flags as the ultimate trailer for any upcoming movie!
Exceed spiritualismFright Fest will also have a maze focus “Stranger Things”, “Army of the Dead”, “Trick R’Treat”, and saw and with Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Specific mazes vary from park to park.
