Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas become big and expensive Lego The story is set in September, just in time for the scariest of upcoming holidays: Labor Day. I guess you could celebrate Halloween with new Disney LEGO sets too, if you wanted.
In the original 1993 film, Jack Skellington, the leader of the Halloween-themed world, grows tired of his existence and status as the Pumpkin King. He then discovers a world dedicated to celebrating Christmas and attempts to take over the holiday, resulting in disaster and carnival. Now you can recreate some of the famous moments from that popular movie using thousands of plastic bricks.
On August 13, LEGO and Disney announced A big 2,193 block NThe nightmare before christmasThe set features three areas from the beloved ’90s stop-motion film, including the iconic Spiral Mountain and City Hall. The LEGO Ideas set also includes eight character minifigures from the movie: Skeleton Jack, Sally, Santa Claus, Lock, Shocker, Barrel, Zero, as well as a 2-sided buildable figure recreating the Mayor.
It all sounds great, and the full set of pictures on the LEGO website make it look like a great thing to build and put on your table or mantle during those spooky October days. But all this creepy fun doesn’t come cheap.
new The nightmare before christmas Collection arrival time Releases September 6th for $200. oops! Yes, I think the set looks cool and all the minifigures are neat, but the price seems too high for what’s included. Lego Really needs to add another minifigure like Oogie-Boogie, or another area from the movie. Or both. As it stands, this feels like a $150 set. At least it costs less than The Legend of Zelda.
So while I’m excited to buy and build this new LEGO set, since I’m a big fan of the Disney movie it’s based on and a lover of Halloween, I’ll be waiting until there’s a sale before I buy this new set next Month landing.
