Learning Resources promotes Tom Runtz to vice president of product development. Runtz served as director of product development and succeeded Barb Plain upon her retirement.

Runtz joined the company in 2013 as a product manager and was later promoted to director of product development. In his new role, he will leverage market insights and nurture the creativity of the product development team. His responsibilities include ensuring Learning Resources’ products meet the evolving needs of children, parents and educators, and overseeing the development of the Brightkins and Hunger For Words brands of pet toys.
“I’m excited to build on the solid foundation Barb has established,” Runtz said. “I look forward to working with our talented team to develop products that make learning fun and accessible to everyone.”
Plain has led the development of many best-selling products, leaving a legacy of innovation and market leadership. “It has been a privilege to work with Barb. Her guidance and vision have been invaluable,” added Lownz.
