Following the slim chance of a Bully remaster, Rockstar has dropped more news, but this time it’s about the long-awaited Red Dead Redemption 2 for PS5 and Xbox Series S/X.
A trailer for the current-gen port of Red Redemption 2 has allegedly been leaked, which will bring the game to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X. The trailer claims it will launch in March 2025.
The trailer comes from a Reddit post, where a user claims to have worked at Rockstar for a while and saw a trailer for the “new” generation version of the game. The user also claimed to have the entire trailer on his hard drive and posted it for everyone to see. According to the user, “…I think it was abandoned so as not to interfere with GTA 6’s marketing unless they delay this and give fans more RDR content as a holdover.”

The user went on to say that the trailer “focuses more on Arthur and the story than any new graphical features. It’s almost meant to give old fans nostalgia and double down. So don’t get too excited. This is pretty much the PC version of the console.
The post was quickly deleted, but not before @CoffeeSneeze on X managed to snag a trailer.
The trailer is interesting because it uses a remixed orchestral version of “That’s The Way It Is” from the game’s soundtrack, which lends some credibility to the trailer.
Of course, it’s also possible that someone is using some handy AI tool to remix the music, or doing it themselves. The music doesn’t sound right, having a generic orchestral style, like what you might encounter when imagining a typical Hollywood trailer. In other words, it doesn’t quite look like something Rockstar would do. However, we also have to consider that this might not be a trailer intended to be shown to the public, but rather a draft.
This isn’t the first time someone has put together an elaborate fake trailer for a Rockstar game, either.
The trailer also doesn’t mention anything about improved frame rates, better graphics, or anything else, which is a bit odd if the trailer is for a current-gen update.
Of course, given the huge success Red Dead Redemption 2 has been for Rockstar, an updated version seems like an obvious move. But then, it took Rockstar more than a decade to bring Red Dead Redemption to PlayStation 4.
What do you think? As much as I want it to be true, I’m more inclined to believe it’s false.
