Although Late Night with the Devil originally premiered at SXSW last year, the unique horror film didn’t really take off until it hit theaters in March of this year and landed on Shudder shortly after. Receiving rave reviews from critics, “Late Night with the Devil” topped Rotten Tomatoes’ list of the best horror movies of 2024 with a 97% fresh rating. But if you didn’t subscribe to Shudder or had a chance to see it during its limited theatrical run, you can soon add a very cool limited edition Blu-ray to your collection. The limited edition Blu-ray of “Late Night with the Devil” will be released on September 10th and can be pre-ordered on Amazon for $31.
Considering Walmart is selling out of pre-orders, Amazon probably won’t be too far behind. Amazon often sells out of limited edition Blu-rays before Walmart does.
Late Night and the Devil Limited Steel Box (Blu-ray)
- price: $31 | List price is $50, but most retailers have it around $36.
- release date: September 10

In addition to the film’s Blu-ray and DVD versions, this limited-edition set also provides you with a stylish steelbook, an autographed photo of protagonist Jack Delory, an exclusive bookmark and an air freshener with the Night Owl logo . It’s a really cool (and unique) collection of goodies, especially when you consider that the bundle is only $31 right now. As mentioned, Walmart is sold out of this version, while Target is selling it for pre-order for $36.
You’ll find many special features on the disc, such as a commentary by David Dastmalchian, a Q&A with directors Colin and Cameron Cairns, and plenty of behind-the-scenes content. The standard DVD version has the same special features, but you’ll miss out on all the physical collectibles and steelbook.
“Late Night with the Devil” tells the story of “Night Owl,” a late-night talk show whose ratings plummet after the death of the host’s wife. Host Jack Delroy (David Dastmalzian) attempts to boost ratings by hosting a Halloween special featuring a 13-year-old girl who is allegedly possessed by a demon. Things don’t quite go according to plan, and the night’s plot soon spirals out of Jack’s control.
It’s a chilling film that grossed $2.8 million at the box office in its first few days. This makes it the best opening weekend for an IFC film ever. It’s worth noting that this number includes Sunday’s $666,666, which is thematically appropriate but a little disturbing.
Late Night with the Devil seems destined to become a cult classic. Speaking of cult classics, The Strangers (2008) will also be released on 4K Blu-ray on September 10th. The Strangers Collector’s Edition 4K UHD gives you multiple featurettes, deleted scenes, stills gallery, and more. Like Late Night with the Devil , it’s currently on pre-release sales. If you’re looking to round out your horror collection, be sure to give it a look.
There is nothing “cult” about this classic, but in October this year, “A Nightmare on Elm Street” will release a limited edition 4K Blu-ray disc to celebrate its 40th anniversary. You can also pre-order the upcoming 40th Anniversary Limited Edition of A Nightmare on Elm Street ahead of its release in October.
