Netflix has released another trailer for the upcoming anime series from Legendary Television and Crystal Dynamics Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft.
The trailer follows Lara Croft as she embarks on a crazy new adventure as she finds herself and her allies threatened by a new enemy. It looks like they’re adding an action element to the series too!
Hayley Atwell (Captain America: The First Avenger, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1) stars in the show and voices Lara Croft.
The series takes place after the events of the video game reboot trilogy. “Lara Croft, one of the most iconic adventurers in video games, makes her animated debut in a new series.
“Continuing the events of the highly successful Tomb Raider video game reboot trilogy, this animated series will chart the latest and greatest adventures of the world-traveling heroine. After the release of her first game Twenty-five years later, Laura continues to explore new territories.
Speaking previously about the show and teasing her preparation for it and her voice, Atwell said: “The script is really good and it’s really funny.”
She added: “I think by playing Captain Carter in this way, I also had a lot of practice and preparation on how to maintain movement and energy levels using just my voice, which gave me a really good foundation for, ‘This is What does it take for you, as a voiceover, to be confined to a small space and not be seen, but to rely solely on your voice to tell the story and awaken someone else’s imagination? So, yes, one thing for sure. Helps feed another thing.
The animation is written and executive produced by Tasha Huo. Demetri Johnson, Stephen Bugaj, Howard Blissand Jacob Robinson will also oversee the series as a producer.
The show will premiere on Netflix on October 10th. Looks like fun!
