Nothing is more dangerous than the dreams in The Lady of the Lake.

As in “I was the first person to see her dead. You were the last person to see her alive.”

In Cleo’s case, a dream about her son’s sickle cell anemia brought her to her knees.

For Maddie, her dream is to be able to keep a small part of her old life in her new life.

However, dreams can turn into nightmares in an instant.

A nightmare from which you may not wake up.

‘Lady in the Lake’ asks viewers to transcend their wildest nightmares

As mentioned before, the theme of the series so far has been “dreams” in a sense.

But in Lady of the Lake Season 1 Episode 3, “I was the first to see her dead. You were the last to see her alive,” that’s the beginning, the middle and the end.

Because the series is so full of visual elements, the series feels like living through a fever dream.

In the case of “The Lady in the Lake,” it could go either way, as this particular episode gives life to every meaning of the word.

The streaming app is unrefined, often featuring series that exploit big budgets to create engaging plots.

Like the “It’s Always Sunny” series, “Lady in the Lake” focuses on investment in writing, acting and production values.

Because, like a dream, this show can shift from mesmerizing beauty to heartbreaking intensity in an instant.

More importantly, “Lady in the Lake” forces viewers to reflect.

It asks the audience: How far would you go to change your life?

What will you do to get closer to your dream?

As Cleo and Maddie discover, just trying can cost you everything and more.

Have a little dream for the ladies of the Lady of the Lake.

In a world ruled by men, both women find it difficult to create the lives they want.

That’s not to say everyone in the series wants to stop Maddie or Cleo.

However, the men in these women’s lives always keep them under their control.

From Reggie and Schell to Milton and Seth, they want these women to shut up and do what they’re told.

As viewers can see, neither Cleo nor Madeleine has had this experience.

They’re tired of this crap and don’t care who knows.

Cleo certainly wasn’t shy about drinking too many cocktails and having a great time in that pretty dress.

Natalie Portman’s Maddie has no plans to go back to her old life, despite what everyone around her tells her.

In a society that treats women as living models, these lovely ladies are no longer props in their own stories.

From a broken heart to a shattered dream, Cleo only knows fear when she closes her eyes

Like I said, this episode is all about dreams, and Cleo’s real-life dream kicks off this emotionally twisted episode.

If we are to disrupt her opening dream sequence, we must try to understand the writer’s ideas.

There’s the light bag, the hopscotch, the lamb, and finally the ghost.

Starting on Sunday, any one of them could be interpreted three ways.

Let’s just assume they’re all metaphors surrounding her eventual murder.

The writers at Apple TV+ are on another level because the sheet ghost never scared me until the third episode of season 1 of Lady in the Lake .

Seriously, I did jump in Cleo’s other dream.

Her “self-driving car” nightmare is bad enough.

But the shot of the sheet ghost a few inches behind her immediately sent shivers down my spine.

Does this mean she is surrounded by dying people?

Or does this mean she will be one of those who will die soon?

Cleo is a woman with a dream, but this may very well be the thing that ends her, as the series creeps toward her eventual death.

Maddie continues to daydream and live a life that slowly becomes reality

Miss Maddie is having the time of her real life as an independent woman.

Never underestimate a young Jewish woman who has been stuck at home, bound by misogyny.

She has dreams, and apparently one of them involves an officer who’s not exactly a gentleman.

We can hardly blame Madeline for upgrading after leaving Milton’s boring and controlling ass.

Plus, it doesn’t hurt to have some law enforcement in your back pocket.

Especially if Maddie were to pursue her dream of journalism.

Still, we’re going to side with Bob, played by The Blacklist’s Pruitt Taylor Vince.

Maddie really thought she was going to walk into a place of business and hire herself.

I love her grit and gumption, but this is a great lesson for this former housewife to learn.

All she needed was a little guidance.

It wouldn’t hurt if she were a little more estranged from her husband and son.

Is Seth going to piss anyone off besides me?

To his mother, he was such a waste.

Everything he said made it difficult to stay calm.

It’s a wonder Maddie didn’t freak out Noah Jupe’s Seth from The Undoing .

Still, being separated from her children wasn’t easy.

    Especially after the girl died.

Maddie still feels the urge of a mother bear to protect her babies.

It looks like Madeline will go the extra mile for Tessie in the next episode as she questions the young girl’s suspicions.

From Cleo’s narration of the series, it appears that she and Maddie never met face-to-face.

However, the almost misses and almost encounters are excellent plot devices that keep the audience curious about what will happen next.

No matter what happens to these ferocious females, I will be front and center of the Lady of the Lake’s entire fever dream.
