Christmas comes days early for DC Comics fans as the filmmakers release the first Superman trailer James Gunn was released.

To say Warner Bros. has been promoting the trailer for the past week would be an understatement. Considering how high hopes the fledgling DC studio has placed on the success of the latest Man of Steel movie, expect them to go all out in the coming year.
While full details of the movie’s plot remain under wraps, the Superman trailer did give fans their first look at a lot of things we’re all excited about. Most importantly, I think we can all agree that seeing Krypto in action is a huge joy. This should come as no surprise considering this is a project from James Gunn, who features his love for animals and pursues the more outlandish elements of the Superman mythos.
Additionally, we get our first official look at Nathan Filion’s Guy Gardner in Green Lantern sporting his signature bowl haircut, as well as Isabelle Moore Hawkgirl played by Isabel Merced and Mister Terrific played by Edi Gathegi. Although it’s short, we also get a close-up of Anthony Carrigan as the Transformer.
Gunn has obviously researched the entire history of the Superman mythos. If you look closely, you’ll see the newscast mention Boravia, a fictional European country that appeared in the original second issue superman 1939 comic.
