DC and Marvel probably didn’t think of every possible leap. But between all single shots in all pages 600 Miracle All And various activity mini-shows collected DC and Marvel: Amalgam Age Omnibus, I think it’s safe to say that by the end of the 90s, both publishers had released comic books that included configurations of many characters, characters their audiences might be most interested in (except, of course, in addition to the failed Justice League/Avengers/Avengers crossover, which they will eventually arrive in 2003 in 2003).
In fact, by the end of the decade, DC and Marvel even repeated specific pairings, holding a second meeting between Batman and Spider-Man and of course the second Batman/Dawkward pairing that would eventually be the last DC/Marvel crossover…besides that, JLA/Avengers A few years later.
And in 1997 Daredevil and Batman It was created by previous Dare The team is DG Chichester and Scott McDaniel, this time at the helm: Alan Grant, who wrote various Batman titles throughout the 90s, while Eduardo Barreto is a very talented artist who worked steadily for DC in the 80s and 90s, steadily throughout the entire Batman, and in several specialties from Batman.
His art is always welcome, a special treat in this particular series, and his contribution is one of the best works in the entire debris (with Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez and Dick Giordano) DC Special Series #27 Steve Rude and Al Milgrom Incredible Hulk and Superman).
Like the Titans/X-Men crossover before the final stop of the DC/Marvel crossover, this particular quality does not seem to be a temporary ending for cooperation. It’s as good as any of the 18 earlier DC/Marvel crossovers, and far better than a few.
Conversely, if responsibility is not a leadership change for both publishers, the various prose works in the series seem to suggest that it may be as simple as crossover fans and market exhaustion as they recover, which is a rather stable cut Batman/Punisher 1994.
While this is just a guess, I have to imagine that at least, DC/Marvel crossover has lost this rare or special feeling in the past six years or so, because of how many of them have been published in such a short time.
But anyway, back this Cross-border.
Grant seems to have constructed the whole thing around a specific meeting of two characters… not those in the name. Instead, Grant seems to want the suicide squad, nicknamed “The Fearless Man”, to oppose Batman’s villain Scarecrow, who claims to be the master of fear, his entire method of committing crimes is to attack his victims by scaring the victims (“Modus operandi”, which I learned for the first time from reading. other The inter-company crossover written by Alan Grant also features scarecrows).
At the climax of the book, that scene appears in a short, five-page order. The Scarecrow sprayed the Night Magic directly on his face, one of the aerosol bottles contained his fear gas, exposed to the victim’s greatest fear.
“Taste fearmy friend!
In the next panel, Daredevil covers his eyes and then scrolls backwards.
Then, a dominant page with two-thirds of the large panels of the pages opened their eyes and mouths, dedicated to Daredevil, and all kinds of fears apparently emerged in his mind, Barreto’s art depicts five different DD villains, one I don’t know, and how powerful Grant’s plot narrative is, “how powerful another man is (“another man-“”another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man-” (“another man any Another man-should crack Under pure slam Unrestricted fear– ”).
The turn of the page finds Daredevil angrily laughing at the dark sky above, while the narrative box reads: “But Dare It’s a man No Fear. Resist He leaned back laugh In it Face!“
“Taste fear You yourselfcreep!
Of course, Daredevil has his My own Rogue – or I want to plural form, as he has become a legacy character – who uses the fear gas as a weapon, which is simply named Mr. Fear (Mr. Fear’s first appeared in 1965, after the Scarecrow’s debut).
Well, I wonder if such scenes were happening in the history of Daredevil before, like I wonder why Grant didn’t pair with the Scarecrow using various versions of Mr. Fear (provided any of 2000 still alive). Instead, Grant also Featured Batman).
(Other nice Batman/Dawkish rogue combos will not be explored yet? Joker and Joker, Penguin and Owl.)
In this particular story, Batman is strange, even if it is anti-French, describes Scarecrow as a villain.Suspicion In organized crime, when the mood brings him” (I have read all the appearances of the entire decade of the 90s, most of which were written by Grant himself, who never showed a real interest in organized crime on Kingpin’s New York City sod, his ability with mind-changing chemicals, is essentially in the criminals coming to follow him.
The story begins with Daredevil on the trail of Catwoman, whose Barreto draws a particularly clever and sexy version, as she actually resembles a nude feminine form that just happens to be the color of her then COSTUME purple and black. She apparently stole something particularly important from the Manhattan safe of New York law firms, Murdoch and Nelson: their charges regarding the crime of Wilson Fisk. This means to put it in bold words
Details Meeting, colleagues, business have. Suspect About his activities. everything lawyer If he briefly introduces him he will need it!
Why do anyone want that? Well, that’s why Daredevil followed Catwoman back to Gotham. As his senses succumbed to Batman, he was about to meet her roof to foil it, so he intercepted the dark Knight in the middle of the air. Batman naturally fought back, a pair of alert men and gargoyles’ heads – hitting the roof.
Catwoman gets out of the case when Batman and Daredville beat the remaining bad guys. The criminals refuse to speak, but they give up the clue that Batman’s Batcave computer manages to decipher: they are clearly influenced by the scarecrow’s fear gas. And, indeed, readers see Catwoman meets Scarecrow on another roof after losing her vigilance.
(If, like me, you have a particular interest in how different artists portray scarecrows, I think I should notice here that his design was basically seen in 1993. The shadow of the bat Bret Blevins draws an arc “God of Fear” with only straw “hair” reminiscent of Tim’s sales design. Or, perhaps more closely, Barreto himself is Batman: Animated Series Design…Scarecrow’s second appearance in the series, but forward Redesigned his neck with a hat lasso. )
Despite their massive meeting at the beginning of a single shot, the two heroes decided to work together again, and the narrative and dialogue would return to their first meeting, the first meeting in 1997 Daredevil and Batman #1. (Is it worth noting that their previous crossover had a “ElseWorlds” logo, and this logo didn’t…?).
They followed the trap set by the scarecrow, who were obviously transporting guns to New York… The gun covered his version of fear chemicals, allowing him to hypnotize instantly almost Anyone who comes into contact with it. In this way, he took over Kingpin’s actions.
“Scarecrow’s this King of New York Now!
Daredevil and Batman soon came to call and tried to urge Kingpin to work together as they found evidence of scarecrow bringing fear breath, so his eyes turned to something other Instead of becoming the new crime theme in New York. He wanted to attack the city with fear gas.
Not only did Kingpin refuse to work with the hero, but apparently he climbed onto an attack helicopter outer board and then tried to shoot it on the roof and then drove it to the high point, he thought the Scarecrow would release his gas on the city: Freedom: Statistics.
The Scarecrow shoots his chopper, but the huge protagonist forces him through the small windows on the statue’s crown… Just like when Batman and Daredevil arrive through Septephoat, considering Kingpin’s head starts, over his head, he knows, he knows, he’s in a helicopter.
This leads to a climax battle where the two heroes come into contact with each other in that match, leading to the scene between Daredevil and Scarecrow detailed above, which happens when Batman fights Kingpin (as the two didn’t strike earlier). Batman and Spider-ManI think this gives readers the opportunity to see the two fight against each other, although the battle is inconclusive and Golden Pin just decides to stop fighting after learning DD takes out the scarecrow).
Finally, like this kind of books, the status quo of all characters can essentially be reset by themselves, the Scarecrow is captured and apparently taken back to the Arkham Shelter (Daredevil, of course, opposes him.
Just as two heroes point the ship to the New York City horizon, the era of DC/Marvel Crossovers is approaching…
OK, almost.
Still have the above JLA/Avengers Haven’t gone yet. That won’t be shipped for another three years (although I wouldn’t be surprised to find it at least in discussion, maybe even developing at the time this Crossovers published), it is different from some critical ways, the crossovers collected in this synthesis were collected in the previous DC/Marvel crossovers, most obviously, it was given the entire four release mini series, rather than happening in a single oversized single shot, making it similar to the three crossovers collected, making it more similar other,,,,, second 600 / Marvel All DC and Marvel: Amalgam Age Omnibus.
