Josh Brolin in final talks to star opposite Glen Powell running manParamount’s film based on Stephen King’s novel.
Edgar Wright directed the film and co-wrote the screenplay with Michael Bacall.

The novel centers on a desperate man who needs money to support his sick daughter, who participates in the most popular show, running manin which a team of killers hunt down contestants. The longer contestants survive, the more money they earn. But as the game show’s producers and killers will discover, this desperate man will break all the rules and reveal the show’s dark secrets.
king’s running ManPublished in 1982 under the pen name Richard Bachman, the book takes place in the United States in 2025, where a totalitarian regime uses violent game shows to appease the disenfranchised masses.
Powell plays the desperate man. Brolin plays a ruthless producer on the game show. (O’Brien will play a contestant on the show.)
Paramount Pictures will release the film on November 21, 2025.
Simon Kinberg, Nyla Parker and Wright serve as producers.
