Mount Joseph PW reports, Vice President and Publisher of Abrams Comicarts. Montagne, formerly associated publisher and vice president, will oversee the graphic novel and comic output in the imprint. He joined Abramscomic Arts in 2023, when it was included in most Abrams Comics Publishing divisions, including the launch of the new Kana Comics imprint. Montagne has previously participated in global publication at the parent company of Abrams, France, with participation from Média in France and Belgium.
Although not mentioned in the PW story Rodolphe Lachat, Beat learned that he was appointed head of Abrams Comicarts.
Update: To get rid of some confusion, Montagne is replacing Lachat. Charlie Kochman Will report to Montagne, and remain the chief editor of Abrams Comicarts, and Jeff Kinney’s wretched editor, perhaps the safest job in publishing.
Montane will report to Abrams President and CEO Mary McAveneyHe announced: “Joseph’s extraordinary skills and aggressive approach make him an ideal leader in Abrams Comics. His promotion is in perfect harmony with our long-term strategy to expand and innovate in this dynamic department. We are confident that under his leadership, Abrams Comics will flourish and set new standards in the industry.”
“It’s really an honor, and dreams come true is a dream, leading Abrams comics at such an exciting time…. I’m upset about what’s going on.”
The excitement seems to be worth it. In addition to launching the Kana comic series under the leadership of the new organization, which became its own division along with adult and children’s books, Abrams has also released works such as Road Graphic Novels and Rick Parker. They are also home to MegaScope branding – Color Author Focus SF/F Books; Definitely Books, LGBTQ Branding; Frank Miller Gift Line; and a series of teamwork with Marvel, including the upcoming The Avengers in the True Trap!Chip Kidd and Michael Cho. one Adapted version of the graphic novel by Octavia Butler The fable of talent (April), from the creative team John Jennings, Damian Duffy and David Brem From Megascope is another highlight of 2025.
In short, Montagne has quite a few people in charge to oversee, and we will undoubtedly hear him in the coming months.
