Back in April, Jon Stewart used his first daily show Back to the monologue to share some real thoughts about the war in the Middle East. Now, five months later, he’s getting the latest news as the war rages on.
First, he played what he called a “golden soundtrack” to explain “how complicated this thing is”: CNN reporter Barak Ravid talks Israel Snippets of government policy.
“Or, as it is sometimes called: war,” Stewart said angrily. “I mean, do you hear yourself? George Orwell’s famous dystopian novel. 1984 and thumbed through it.
“I mean, my God, there’s got to be some other way to achieve de-escalation that doesn’t require all these respectful missile exchanges,” Stewart continued. “Historically, this part is usually followed by years of grief. and bleeding.”
