Deadline reports today that Jon Hamm will produce and star in a new scripted podcast thriller called Dungeon Master .
Yes, a side of ham is always welcome, but all we could hear this time was his voice.
So it was more like watching a Mercedes commercial than watching an episode of Mad Men.
It’s a little strange that one of television’s most dapper leading men now enjoys voiceover work so much.

But hey, maybe the former Don Draper/Dick Whitman is just tired of sitting in the makeup chair!
According to today’s report, “Dungeon Master” is set in 1979 and revolves around the disappearance of real-life college student Dallas Egbert, who was playing a role in “Dragons and Dragons” Characters in “Dungeon” disappear from campus.
Hamm will play William Dear, the PI who investigates the case, and Wil Wheaton will play beloved D&D creator Gary Gygax.
“The show tells the story of Diehl’s search for MSU student Dallas Egbert, who is said to have disappeared into the steam tunnels beneath his university while performing a real-life version of Dungeons and Dragons,” the report said.
“It’s great to explore the mystery of Dallas Egbert with this talented team and cast,” said Hamm, who recently won awards for his performances in “Fargo” and “The Morning Show.” Emmy Award Nominated.
“I’m excited for listeners to follow William Deere’s journey and become immersed in this series.”
“Ever since I was a kid playing Dungeons and Dragons, I have been fascinated by the disappearance of Dallas Egbert,” said series creator David Kushner.
“When I spoke to Wired about the game’s co-creator Gary Gygax, he told me how much Dallas’ disappearance affected the game.
I’ve always thought that the true story of William Dear’s search for Dallas would be a fantastic way to immerse people in the world of the game and the players who play it.

“Dungeon Master” also stars Felicia Day, Kristian Nairn, Emily Axford, Anjali Bhimani Anjali Bhimani and Mark Daugherty.
