“Fountain Boy” at Osaka Station gets a new look
May 16, West Japan Railway Co., Ltd. announced with JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure author Hirohiko Araki Giving the station’s iconic “Funsui Kozo” (“Fountain Boy”) statue a new look. While the company and Araki are keeping many details secret, they revealed that Araki’s work will be on display at the Osaka Station Nishi Art Project (WARP) at the Inomon Building in Osaka through July 31. Released today on July 29, it has a unique Araki style.
Araki created this piece as a tribute to the “Funsui Kozo” (“Fountain Boy”) statue that stood at Osaka Station for 103 years.

Public Art “Fountain Boy” Hirohiko Araki Unveiling!
WARP (WEST ART PROJECT) is JR West’s art project in Osaka Station West District.
As part of this, Araki’s work will be on display on Wednesday, July 31, on the first floor of Inogate Osaka, Osaka Station West Exit.The work was created to commemorate the 103rd anniversary of the display of Fountain Boys since the second building of Osaka Station.

The main figures in Fountain Boy are made of stained glass, a new take on statues. However, savvy fans JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Seven stands from the series’ long history will be seen in the production. The stalls are from left to right: Cheap Dirty Deeds, Platinum Stars, Stone Free, November Rain, Gold Experience, Killer Queen and Tusk.
“Fountain Boy” is a wonderful work from the legendary comic book writer and reflects his unique artistic style. The contents of the stand come from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure The series helps fill in some of the dead spots in the piece. The blue background pattern also pays homage to the original “Fountain Boy”.
