Jennifer Lopez and Jarrell Jerome star in upcoming wrestling biopic, unstoppablebased on the true story of Anthony Robles.
Amazon-MGM Studios shared a first look image from the William Goldberg-directed film on Thursday. The film centers on the life of wrestler Anthony Robles (Jerome), who was born with only one leg and won a national championship while competing at Arizona State University in 2011.
As for Lopez, she plays Anthony’s mother Judy, while Bobby Cannavale plays Anthony’s father Rick. Michael Pena, who plays Coach Bobby Williams, and Don Cheadle, who plays wrestling coach Sean Charles, also join the cast.

“Anthony Robles became an NCAA Division I champion wrestler despite being born without a right leg, eventually winning the national championship over the school that rejected him, national powerhouse Iowa State,” the film The official synopsis reads.
unstoppable It is produced by Lopez’s husband, Ben Affleck, through Artists Equity, the production company he shares with Matt Damon. Robles also served as a producer on the film and served as Jerome’s stuntman, performing complex wrestling moves.
The film marks the directorial debut of William Goldenberg. He previously won an Academy Award for serving as editor on the 2013 film Argoas well as being nominated for an Oscar imitation game, zero dark thirty, sea biscuit and insider.
The biopic is based on the book by Robles and Murphy Unstoppable: From Loser to Undefeated: How I Became a Championwhich will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. It will then be released in select theaters in December.
