James Gunn provides another update superman — formerly known as Superman: Legacy.
The film, which stars David Corenswaite and stars Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, wrapped up a six-week shoot in Cleveland this week and is “nearly” complete.
The DC Studios director and co-head, who has been sharing updates with fans on Threads, took to the social media platform in a lengthy, er, post praising the city of Cleveland for its hospitality during the filming of the movie.
“#Cleveland – After six amazing weeks of filming, we are leaving you today,” he wrote. “Less than a year ago, when we first came here to scout, from the moment the terminal tower was lit up with Superman’s colors, I knew you were a special place. I walked your streets, Someone would stop me and tell me how grateful they were that we filmed in their city—not once, not twice, but dozens of times.
He continued, “The great background actors in the movie are always so funny and they applaud after the take, which reminds us Hollywood cynics why we make movies. You’d be proud to be around Jerry [Siegel] and joe [Shuster] Creating Superman for the first time was exhilarating. You embody his spirit. But what also touches me is the pride you have in your community, your hometown, your radio stations, restaurants and gathering places.
When a fan asked if they were done filming the movie, Gunn said they still had “a few weeks to go,” adding, “It’s been a long shoot…but we’re so close!! ”
superman The film, which began production in February, marks the first project under Gunn and Peter Safran’s reign at DC Studios.
According to the introduction, the film will be the first in more than a decade to focus exclusively on Man of Steel, telling the story of how the iconic superhero reconciles his alien heritage with his human upbringing.
Nicholas Hoult will play Lex Luthor; Dragon House Stars Millie Alcock as Supergirl.
Wendell Pierce (Perry White), Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Sara Sampaio (Eve Teschmacher), Eddie Gaethje (The Great “Mr.”), Terrence Rossmore (Otis), Anthony Carrigan (Transformers), Isabella Merced (Hawkeye), Nathan Fillion (Guy) plus Dana) and Maria Gabriella de Faria (The Engineer) round out the cast.
