James Gunn has revealed that Man of Steel’s trusty four-legged companion will be making his way to the big screen in Man of Steel. Superman.
While superdog Krypton didn’t originally appear in the movie, Gunn explained that he adopted a puppy named Ozu shortly after he started writing the script, which inspired Krypto’s inclusion in the film, which was directed by David Coren in an upcoming project starring Sweet.
“Ozu hoarding food in the backyard with 60 other dogs and never getting to know humans is problematic to say the least,” the writer-director wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “He immediately came in and destroyed Dropped our home, our shoes, our furniture – he even ate my laptop and it was a long time before he let us touch him.
Gunn continued, “I remember thinking, ‘Oh my gosh, how difficult would life be if Ozu had superpowers?'” — and so Krypton entered the script and changed the shape of the story, just as Ozu changed Like my life. What better time to showcase the not-so-nice good boy Krypto than #AdoptAShelterDog month? By the way, Ozu today is a very good boy most of the time.
