James Cameron go all out Avatar Franchise and fully invest. After reports surfaced that he might not direct Avatar 4 and 5, the filmmaker confirmed he wasn’t going anywhere and that he’d have to get hit by a bus to stop him from making the films.
In an interview with THR, Cameron was asked if he planned to direct Avatar 5 and 6, and he responded: “Of course. Of course. I mean, they’re going to have to stop me.
“I have a lot of energy and I enjoy doing what I’m doing. Look, if I get hit by a bus and I’m in an iron lung, someone else is going to do it.
He then added: “Yeah, I try to avoid that.”
So as long as Cameron doesn’t find himself face-to-face with death, he’ll be directing every Avatar movie he has planned.
It’s too early to know where this story will go with the future of the series, but when it comes to talking about the third film in the series, Avatar: Fire and AshesCameron said, “Yeah. It’s really cool. You’re going to love it. But I can’t talk about it.”
Speaking about this recently at D23, he said: “It’s so gratifying to feel so much love for the world of Pandora and these characters that my team has been working on for over 18 years.
“I can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working towards Avatar 3. Every day when I look back at new footage, it’s like Christmas morning. The characters are so vivid and everything feels so real.
“This is a wild adventure, as you’d expect, but it’s also got very high emotional stakes than ever before. We’re going into some really challenging territory for all the characters you know and love.
“There are some new characters, especially characters we think you’ll love or love to hate. You’ll see more of Pandora you’ve never seen before.
