The revenue season for the toy industry continues until after Jakks Pacific, Mattel and Hasbro report revenues for the fourth quarter and full year 2024.
Net sales fell 3% to $691 million over the year, down from $711.6 million in 2023. Net sales of toys/consumer products fell 2% to $570 million, while net sales of the camouflage apparel business fell 8% to $121 million. In addition, the company’s gross profit margin, gross profit and operating income fell.
In the fourth quarter, businesses were in trouble, with disguised clothing sales rising 46% year-on-year. Toys/consumer products net sales fell by just 1%, while total net sales increased by 3%. The company said the results “around the same as expectations” and Sonic Hedgehog 3 and Moana 2 Fourth quarter sales.
During tonight’s revenue call, CEO Stephen Berman noted that Jakks Pacific has international growth in 2024, with more than 300 new clients in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Looking ahead, he praised Spielwareenmesse’s success last month.
“The team also has another strong performance at the Nuremberg Toy Fair [Spielwarenmesse]. Given that we can attract a wide range of customers in one location, we would otherwise be unable to visit our showrooms in Southern California, we continue to think that this is the most important show to us worldwide. ” he said.
This year, Jakks will release many new product lines, including an outdoor product expansion throughout the home.
