“Watchmen Chapter 2,” adapted from DC’s critically acclaimed graphic novel co-written and illustrated by Dave Gibbons, is the first of two new animated features from Warner Bros. Animation and Paramount. Part Two will be released on Digital on November 26th and 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray on December 3rd.
The animated feature faithfully adapts writer Alan Moore and illustrator Dave Gibbons’ groundbreaking graphic novel series, which debuted in the mid-1980s and redefined the superhero genre. Hero type.
Watchmen Chapter 1 and Watchmen Chapter 2 delves into the gritty and complex world of an alternate version of America’s masked vigilantes during the Cold War. The Watchmen saga remains a cornerstone of comic book literature, receiving numerous awards and honors over the decades.
This adaptation captures the spirit and style of Moore and Gibbons’ original groundbreaking vision through stunning animation that pays homage to the comic book’s iconic visual style. The film boasts a stellar voice cast, including Matthew Rhys (television brothers and sisters, American, perry mason) Katie Sackhoff (television battlestar galactica, Longmire, The Mandalorian) and Titus Welliver (television lost deadwood, sons of anarchy).
The film was produced and directed by Brandon Vietti Adapted from J. Michael Straczynski. Jim Krieger and Cindy Lago serves as producer, with Dave Gibbons serving as consulting producer. Sam Lester, Larry Gordon and Lloyd Levin is an executive producer.
