There were recent reports that Sony might delay Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse until 2027, but the series’ composer has clarified this.
Forgive the pun in the first line, yesterday industry insider Jeff Snyder shared in his (paid) column The Insneider that the third and final installment in the Spider-Man trilogy, Beyond the Spider-Man “Man” has not yet been released and is currently scheduled to be released in 2027. Due to creative reasons, most of the film has been canceled. Beyond Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was originally slated for release on March 29, 2024, but was delayed in part due to last year’s writers’ strike, but also because it didn’t sound like it was ready for production anyway. The 2027 release will apparently be delayed by three years, meaning it will be four years after its predecessor, Into the Spider-Verse .

However, Snyder’s information doesn’t appear to be entirely accurate, with Daniel Pemberton, the film trilogy’s composer, taking to Twitter to clear up any speculation surrounding the claim. “I really don’t want to weigh in on this sort of thing, but would you believe that sometimes things online might not always be particularly accurate? Well…” Pemberton wrote.

Obviously, this still won’t be figured out when the movie comes out, but it at least makes it look like we won’t have to wait that long and hopefully means that most of the work hasn’t been scrapped yet.
If most of the jobs were scrapped, that could mean the alleged working conditions didn’t improve much in the second film. Back in June last year, a Vulture report claimed that working conditions on the film were unsustainable, with several crew members sharing their experiences on the set.
