In-N-Out employees are tired of fake secret menu orders

If you’ve ever been to an In-N-Out, you probably know there’s a secret menu that lets you order custom-made burgers and fries that aren’t on the official menu. But thanks to the internet, some social media users are a little confused as to what’s actually on offer on the secret menu. In fact, influencers are spreading bad information about fake goods that people can order, and workers at fast food restaurants are reportedly tired of people asking for items that don’t exist.

Officially, there are six secret menu items you can order at In-N-Out, Los Angeles news outlet KTLA explains.

    • Double meat: One burger and two patties
    • 3X3: Burger with three hamburger patties and three slices of cheese
    • 4×4: The burger has four burger patties and four slices of cheese
    • Grilled cheese: Two slices of cheese, no beef patty
    • Protein style: Burgers with lettuce instead of buns
    • animal style: French fries or burgers cooked in mustard and topped with extra pickles, extra sauce and grilled onions

You can even get some unofficial secret menu items, including the Flying Dutchman (just two slices of cheese and two beef patties) and Lemon Fries, which are fries with a squeeze of lemon juice on top. But almost everything else you hear isn’t true.

What fake menu items are people ordering, much to the chagrin of In-N-Out employees? First, some people ordered something called “Doggy Style Fries,” which they said meant fries topped with cheese and chopped hot dogs. Of course, the big problem with this product is that, as KTLA notes, In-N-Out doesn’t even serve hot dogs.

Another fake order is Monkey Style, which supposedly means animal-style fries are added to your burger. As SFGate points out, the “monkey style” scam dates back to at least 2013. If you ask nicely, you can get a puppy Patty, but it’s not free.

Yes, In-N-Out has a lot of secret menu items. But for the sake of the people who work there, don’t try to order anything that’s not on the official list. The workers have heard it all before, and it doesn’t sound smart for you to try it on for size.
