As announced last month, Image Comics has begun rolling out its own monthly sales charts, showing its top 10 in the direct market (journal comics) and bookstores (graphic novels).
Methods: Charts track new releases and are based on the number of DM orders for singles and the number of DM and book market orders for books.

The return of the classic “Witchblade” series ranks high on Image’s journal rankings, showing the vitality of those old fans. Elsewhere, all is well, with Saga, the Energon universe books, and Spawn all doing well. The Energon book “Void Rivals” is not exactly an Energon book, but it still sells like an Energon book.

In the book world, Hasbro’s Energon universe once again leads the way with the first Cobra Commander series. Ed Brubaker and Marcos Martin’s Third Friday series ranked second, proving that Brub still has energy – his “Fatale” also ranked fifth. Elsewhere, it’s a fairly eclectic list of books, with The Ghost Machine volume coming in at number six and an introductory collection of Kyle Higgin’s Massive Verses showing that readers are enjoying these new shared universe imprints .
