Seven years after its initial release, Horizon Zero Dawn is getting a remaster that upgrades the visuals and adds reconstructed and re-recorded dialogue scenes, bringing the original PlayStation 4 game into line with its PS5 sequel, Horizon “Forbidden West” is more consistent. If you never played the first Horizon game, Sony will soon be selling one “Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered” physical version $50 – but if you take advantage of its current upgrade pipeline, you can get the digital version of the remaster for just $20.
The trick here is to buy a digital copy of the original Horizon Zero Dawn. Sony is offering an upgraded version of Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered on PS5 for just $10, so you can buy an older, cheaper version and upgrade instead of paying full price for a new game. You can buy Horizon Zero Dawn from GameStop for just $10, plus upgrades, for a total of $20.
If you want a more complete package, you can opt for the Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition, which includes the game and all of its DLC. It’s slightly more expensive at $20 at GameStop, so with the upgrade, your total comes to $30, but it’s still cheaper than buying the remaster itself. Of course, if you already own Horizon Zero Dawn on PS4 or PC, you’re already eligible for the $10 upgrade. Horizon: Zero Dawn Remastered will be released on October 31st.
It’s a big week for the Horizon series. In addition to announcing Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered during Sony’s State of Play livestream, the publisher also announced LEGO Horizon Adventures, a game in the LEGO series. This synergy makes sense, as Horizon is already popular among LEGO fans thanks to a range of sets that let you build its iconic robotic creatures – and they’re pretty impressive.
Leading the pack is the 1,222-piece LEGO Turtleneck, available only on Amazon. It sells for $105, which is slightly more than the $90 it originally cost. The price increase appears to be part of an Amazon exclusivity, but the set is Prime-eligible for free shipping and is still cheaper than buying from a reseller.

The Horizon series also offers action figures, graphic novels, and board games for your enjoyment. Check out the full list of what you can get below.
