Idris Elba Will star in and produce the TV series adaptation Chinua Achebe 1958 novel, things fall apartunder development at A24.
things fall apart Considered one of the greatest novels ever written. The show’s official description says it’s “the story of Okonkwo (Elba), one of the most iconic characters in literature – a fearless African warrior and leader determined to protect own people and culture.
“Okonkwo’s struggle to maintain power and tradition evolves into a heartbreaking confrontation as British colonizers disrupt his world.
“His fierce determination, his fatal flaw in the face of inexorable change, makes him an unforgettable character who embodies the tension between strength, vulnerability and adaptability.”
The project does not yet have a writer and is not currently set up on a network or streaming service. The series is also produced by Gina Carter and David Oyelowo.
It looks like this series is going to be a high-profile, epic project.
