Australian toy manufacturer Hunter Products is re-launching the Shibajuku anime doll.
First launched in 2017, Shibajuku anime dolls are inspired by the Harajuku fashion world and focus on bright, eye-catching outfits. Designed for children ages 3 and up, these 13-inch dolls are fully articulated and poseable so kids can stage a Harajuku fashion show while playing, and also have sparkly eyes and real eyelashes. There are two dolls in the series – Akira and Kiki – each with removable clothing and shoes, adding to the mix.
Each doll has a unique look reminiscent of Harajuku fashion. Akira’s hair is mint green, contrasting with her black and white outfit and matching cat ears, which feature different textures and designs. Qiqi wore a yellow and black plaid sailor skirt, black knee-high socks, and a wing hairpin in her long black hair.
“When we founded Shibajuku Girls, our goal was to offer something truly unique,” said Madeleine Hunter, Co-CEO of Hunter Products. “By increasing the size and incorporating realistic details and multiple points of articulation, we have created a doll that stands out in today’s market. Kiki and Akira will appeal to both young fashionistas and seasoned collectors alike.
Shibajuku anime dolls are now available exclusively at Walmart.
